Horween Pioneer Hatch Grain Leather Watch Straps

In the past years, we crafted leather watch straps using many Calf & Goat leather varieties & textures, including Barenia, Palmellato, Saffiano, Buttero and many more. Today, we'd like to introduce you to one of the industry's greatest leathers: Horween Pioneer Hatch Grain leather.

Why is this leather so special? The tanning process takes a minimum of six months and entire process is made by hand. The Horween Pioneer Hatch Grain leather comes from Horween Leather Company, which was founded in 1905. For more than five generations, they are using the same traditional techniques, without cutting corners. Horween Pioneer Hatch grain was developed in line with the famous Russian calf, which is considered one of the best leathers in the world.

The leather is finished by incorporating Horween’s Boxboard print into the leather. Horween Hatch Grain leather is extremely durable and has a really unique look.  The leather is smooth and flexible, with just the proper amount of structure. It's one of the most comfortable straps I've ever used, and it wraps around your wrist perfectly.

The Hatch Grain leather is available in five colours: Cognac, Dark Brown, Saddle Brown, Black, and Sienna.

Horween Dublin leather

Horween also offers a more rustic leather, called Dublin. The leather is vegetable tanned, infused with a rich blend of natural waxes. Dublin leather offers the best balance of comfort, durability and patina potential. It picks up the markings and scratches and it becomes very unique over time.

This leather it’s perfect for our minimal stitching design. It complements every classy timepiece and it gives a more vintage touch to any watch. It is available in two colours at the moment: Natural and Nut-Brown.

I’d also like to know your thoughts on the new Horween materials, so please share them in the comments section.
